An 18-year-old man is accused of picking up and throwing or pushing an 8-year-old boy off the platform of a waterslide while waiting in line.
Roman Adams of Maple Grove, 18, is charged with third-degree assault after admitting to throwing the child from the platform of a waterside at the Apple Valley Aquatic Center at around 1:35 p.m. on Tuesday. In a later interview, he said he pushed the child. His reasoning? The line was "taking a long time," KARE 11 reports.
The unidentified boy plummeted 31 feet to the concrete and suffered several broken bones in his feet, legs, and shoulders. His current condition is unknown.
According to police, Adams is "developmentally delayed."
