David Casarez has all the right tools and skills to land a job as a web developer. Yet, he found himself homeless and out of luck after his startup dreams fell through.
His situation changed on Friday when the 26-year-old dressed up in a suit and tie and held a sign along a highway median in Mountain View, California, that read, "HOMELESS. HUNGRY 4 SUCCESS. TAKE A RESUME."
According to People, this tweet of Casarez went viral and reached the hands of Google, Netflix, LinkedIn, and other companies. When it was all said and done, Casarez landed at least 200 job offers total.
Casarez told KNTV that he had to "do something crazy," as he realized this move was his "make it or break it moment."
The ambitious web developer fell short after losing all of his money and the vehicle he'd been living in. After graduating with a degree in management information systems from Texas A&M University and working for General Motors, his California startup dream didn't come to fruition as planned.
