Next Week, I Have The Experience Of A Lifetime

I still can't fully wrap my head around it. This Saturday, I'm heading to Lake Placid, NY, to the site of the 1980 Winter Olympics......where a bunch of US kids beat, perhaps, the greatest hockey team ever assembled. A majority of those "kids" were Minnesotans.....and superheroes, to me. Most notably Neal Broten, who grew up in the same little town my Dad did, Roseau, MN. He was my hockey hero.

So, this Saturday I head to Lake Placid, NY, to take part in the Miracle On Ice Fantasy Camp. Guys, I'll be skating on THE same ice that the 80 US team beat the Russians and won improbable Gold. I guess miracles still happen, as this will be the experience of a lifetime for me. The "Miracle On Ice" is by far my favorite sports moment, and overall moment really. I believe it's not just a hockey moment, but piece of our country's history. I'm beyond chills. I'll share my journey out there on Instagram & Twitter, as well as some on Facebook

Have to drop a huge thank you to the Herb Brooks Foundation for making it happen as well as the Miracle Camp itself.

Just because it's so great.....said to be Coach Herb Brooks' speech of his life. I have a wood engraving of this speech hanging in my basement.
