This year’s Sampler album artwork is bright and colorful. The background is a watercolor made up of “charged color” patches. This means that while the paint is still wet on the paper, you blop your brush into the background color with a second color and watch it transform. You can move the paper around to direct the flow, but ultimately, what you get is a surprise. The result is unexpected and beautiful – a soft gradient of color. The logo on the cover consists of stacked type. Since the letters are broken up onto lines, it causes you to slow down and spend a little more time with the words to figure it out, even if a only slight second more.
