Dove has apologized after a body wash advertisement with racist overtones featured on the brand's Facebook page sparked the ire of customers.
The since-deleted spot featured four photos arranged in a square. The first two pictured a black woman in the process of removing a brown shirt from her body.
A brief Twitter post admitted they had "missed the mark" in representing women of color, while a wordier Facebook post maintained that the brand remains "committed to representing the beauty of diversity."
