Florida Nonprofit Delivers Roses to Cancer Patients for Mother's Day

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- This week, a local nonprofit is giving a special Mother’s Day gift to cancer patients.

Monday morning, Courage Through Cancer Ministries began preparing dozens of bouquets of roses, each with a card attached reading, 'Happy Mother’s Day.'

The flowers are being delivered to cancer centers and oncology offices in Tallahassee and Thomasville.

The organization’s CEO and cancer survivor, Barbara Linton, said the roses serve as a symbol of life and hope.

"Going to a cancer center or oncology office and you're facing chemo, it's just very very difficult. So to come out and see a beautiful bouquet of roses, and realize one of those have actually been prepared for you, and you get to receive it, is just very encouraging to them,” said Linton.

The group will be preparing 1400 to 1600 roses. If you would like to learn more about Courage Through Cancer Ministries, visit their Facebook page, here.
