I grew up with hockey. It's a part of my life. Learned to skate when I was 3. I also grew up with a healthy sports hatred for Bloomington Jefferson hockey, like most kids who didn't play there. SO, this might be the first time...IN MY LIFE....I root for Bloomington! Also, my good buddy (and podcast mate), Mark Parrish is a Bloomington Jefferson alum, so I've learned to.....like, maybe not love, but like Jefferson.
Here's what I know, regardless of past hatred, hahaha, Bloomington is a fantastic hockey program and community that gives kids an awesome experience.
By the way, Bloomington wouldn't just get the $150K in arena upgrades, they'd also host an NHL preseason game next year. An arena that would totally do that justice. I mean the 1980 Miracle On Ice team practiced there.
