On Friday, I flew to NYC to meet up with my sister, Wendy, and her (almost) 10 year old, Anna, for a girls' weekend.
Wendy and I are super close, as most sisters are. Even though I've lived in MN for 16 years, we haven't skipped a beat. We talk every single day, and try to get away for sisters' weekends as often as possible.
This time, instead of it being a sisters' getaway, we decided to include a new member into the group...Anna! She's the perfect age to come along, and has such a spunky, adventurous personality, we knew she'd have a blast.
Having a first-timer to NY meant we did things Wendy and I might not have done otherwise. For example-Anna really wanted to take the double-decker bus tour, and of course we HAD to ride on top!
Times Square was a no-brainer, and the M&Ms store was especially a big hit!
We went to the 'Top of the Rock' (Rockefeller Center), MOMA (Museum of Modern Art), and you can't go to NYC without doing a little shopping, too.
Anna fell in love with the pizza purse, and I fell in love with the avocado purse. So, we got them both!
On Sunday, we took a walk in Central Park, before we parted ways. They flew back to Detroit, and I came home to the Twin Cities. It's always so hard to say goodbye, but I know the memories we made will last the rest of our lives!
