My husband, Mike, and I fell in love, quite unexpectedly, at a random meeting in a dive bar.
So, on our 2 year anniversary, Mike gifted me with the actual high top table and chairs from that important night. He had, unbeknownst to me, gone back, asked if he could buy them off of the bar. They loved his story, and agreed.
An incredibly sweet and romantic gesture!
That being said, you couldn't get around the fact that it was still, in fact, used bar furniture. Gum under the table, torn leather on the seats, and...who knows what else! But the nostalgia was undeniable.
Well, fast forward to our 5 year anniversary...he surprised me by having secretly snuck the table and chairs to a company that can restore furniture. The end result is a beautiful high-top table, with the date of our infamous night burned into the wood top. And each beautiful chair has our name on the back.
I gotta say, I feel so grateful to have such a thoughtful husband!
