Last time I did this, I surprised my husband, Mike, with a fun afternoon of put-put golf on top of the Walker Arts Center. This time, things took a little bit of a creepy turn.
There's an exhibit at the Minneapolis Institute of Art that I knew he would absolutely love (and i think YOU will, too!).
'Guillermo del Toro: At Home With Monsters' is basically the famous movie director's private collection of memorabilia, collectibles, etc. He calls it his 'man cave', and it does not disappoint!
From scary characters straight out of Hellboy and Pan's Labyrinth, to an impressive comic book collection, to personal pieces of art, this is a fun and creepy exhibit.
Buying tickets in advance is a good idea. It makes things easy and stress-free. And the bonus is that, since you're already there, after walking through At Home With Monsters, you can explore all the rest of the incredible art on display at the MIA.
It was an awesome way to spend an afternoon, and Mike loved it! Head over to MIA.com to read more about, 'Guillermo del Toro: At Home With Monsters' on display until May 28, 2017 in the Target Gallery of the Art Institute.
