Another day, another new chicken sandwich! Wendy's is already known as a big name in the spicy chicken game (um, can you say spicy chicken nuggets??), but the chain may have just rolled out its most exciting spicy chicken sandwich yet. Introducing: the Jalapeño Popper Chicken Sandwich!!!
This new Wendy's sandwich takes its already delicious spicy chicken fillet and tops it with all the delicious components of a jalapeño popper! We're talking creamy jalapeño cream cheese, six slices of jalapeños, and three strips of Applewood smoked bacon!! Add in some cheddar cheese and shredded pepper jack cheese and place it on a bun, and you've got a seriously spicy and seriously delicious sandwich.
But just in case you're not into chicken sandwiches these days, you can also order the Jalapeño Popper Chicken Salad from the chain. It's made with a romaine and spring mix lettuce blend, diced tomatoes, and jalapeño and cheddar croutons. The salad is then topped with a creamy jalapeño ranch dressing so it has all of the delicious flavors of the sandwich but without the whole...sandwich aspect.
We got a chance to try both of these items and, let me tell you, as someone who has a passion for all things bar food (so yes: jalapeño poppers) this sandwich especially hits all the right notes! If this whole thing has made you hungry, you'd better get to the drive-thru ASAP. You can find the sandwich for about $5.99 and the salad for $6.79 at participating Wendy's restaurants! Just be sure to add a drink...you might need it!
