Turns out one of the biggest moments from Sunday's Oscars was a complete surprise to almost everyone.
There was a montage of some of the biggest songs in movies that led to Eminem coming on stage and performing "Lose Yourself" which won an Academy Award for "8 Mile" in 2003. The original plan in 2003 was for Em to perform but he said he slept through it because he had to take his daughter to school the next day.
Fast forward 17 years and Eminem wanted to come back and perform. The Oscars arranged for the entire performance to be a complete surprise. Even stagehands didn't know who was performing. Eminem appearing in secret was important to him, according to ABC, the 47-year old rapper could have backed out of the performance had the information leaked prior to the media.
