A new feature is coming to the Mall of America in time for the holidays: a custom-built ice rink.
Placed near the megamall's North Entrance, the 12,000-square-foot oval rink will open on Dec. 8 and will be free to the public, while proceeds from skate rentals will go to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities (BGCTC).
In a press release, the MOA's SVP of business development Jill Renslow said an ice rink is "an experience we have always wanted to bring to life" at the Bloomington mall.
