Meth was seized and over 1,000 chickens and dogs were rescued from a Western Wisconsin home, about one hour away from the Twin Cities.
The raid took place August 30 and uncovered four pounds of methamphetamine, one pound of marijuana, a pot grow operation, and animals bred for dog fighting and cockfighting, KARE 11 reports.
Pierce County Sheriff Hove says this is the second large-scale animal cruelty case they've come across in the last two years. The dogs were injured and tied to heavy chains, while the roosters were "physically altered" to prepare them for fighting.
Participating in animal fighting in Wisconsin carries a felony charge, which could result in up to three-and-a-half years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
