Ivanka Trump's Reason For Turning Down 'Bachelorette' Gets MAJOR Backlash

Bachelor Nation could have been completely different today had Ivanka Trump been the 'Bachelorette.' The reason she turned it down might get some backlash, depending on how you spin it.

An interview from 2007 has resurfaced, which reveals the reason Ivanka Trump turned down the 'Bachelorette' gig was that it wouldn't further her career.

"I've been offered tons of shows, (including) The Bachelorette," she said in the interview with People. "I'm flattered, but that in no way furthers my objective of being a great real estate developer."

At first, one might think this is a load of bull because of course it would further her career. It's exposure, publicity, MONEY...

But let's be real here...she is right. The gig would have given her publicity, but it has absolutely nothing to do with real estate nor does it develop a real estate developer's brand. On a celebrity level, maybe it could have helped or been interesting to see Ivanka Trump be the Bachelorette, but I've gotta defend her on this one.

ABC declined the Daily Mail's request to comment on her claims, and it's not certain which season Ivanka was allegedly asked to star in.

Ivanka married her husband, Jared Kushner, just two years later.
